Patrón is a brand of tequila products produced in Mexico by the Patrón Spirits Company.  Patron tequilas are made from the "piña" (heart or core) of the blue agave plant.  The Patrón Spirits Company, based in Las Vegas, Nevada, was formed in 1989 by Martin Crowley and John Paul DeJoria, a co-founder of John Paul Mitchell Systems.
